Many 4WDrivers struggle from one waterhole to another, in a figurative way. Few can contemplate what is involved for the traders on the way who have to endure the extremes of climate, the difficulties of supply and the cash problems that come from carrying too much stock or having to admit to not enough to satisfy some pretty obscure requests at any time of day or night, and yet survive themselves through to the next tourist season.

I will be asking traders on the tough routes to join me with their stories, provide some of the insights into their walkup customers who ultimately form their rich cavalcade of passing trade.
